Renovation of Opéra Garnier, Monaco

SNC-Lavalin was commissioned to manage the works packages and planning committee within the framework of renovations to Opéra Garnier, an edifice built in 1878 and classified as an historic monument. Hungexpo: Retrofitting and expansion of exhibition complex, Budapest

GL Events, world leader in the organisation of exhibitions and events, sought to update Hungary's largest exhibition complex. As prime contractor, SNC-Lavalin enjoyed involvement in a number of project phases: dismantling of existing structures, technical retrofitting of existing exhibition halls, construction of new buildings.

Montlhéry swimming pools

Syndicat Intercommunal de Montlhéry awarded SNC-Lavalin a contract to rebuild a 25-metre swimming pool and 3350 m² teaching pool. Project management responsibilities extended to design-build, structural and fluid works, cost control, as well as construction scheduling, management and coordination.

Mandes Les Roses College

The General Council of Val de Marne commissioned SNC-Lavalin to manage the structural and fluid works of a new 8700 m² college. Company teams also managed High Environmental Quality considerations which included integrating the building into the natural surroundings, minimising environmental impact and construction noise, overseeing water and energy management, providing for hygrothermic, acoustic and visual comfort, and ensuring air quality.

Complutense University, Madrid

Complutense University of Madrid commissioned SNC-Lavalin to draw up a master plan for 110 university buildings located in 3 different areas: on the main campus, on Somosaguas Campus (suburban), and in central Madrid. The majority of the buildings are outdated to varying extents and present a wide range of defects. In the master plan, provision has been made for the drafting of a safety status report for each building, detailing structural issues, fire hazards, etc., and indicating compliance or non-compliance with applicable standards. The plan also recommends action to be taken to remedy the issues highlighted in these reports.

Val Joly Resort

General Council of Nord named SNC-Lavalin prime contractor with responsibility for works packages (building shell, roads and services, fluids) within the framework of the construction of a leisure resort in Val Joly Resort.

The project entails the construction of a group of buildings linked by a series of pedestrian walkways.  The resort will include a welcome area, aquatic centre, children’s facility, aquarium, performing arts venue and equestrian centre, as well as shops, restaurants and lodging facilities.

Toulouse Lautrec College

General Council of Haute-Garonne awarded SNC-Lavalin a project management contract with responsibility for works packages and the incorporation of a fire safety system within the framework of the reconstruction of Toulouse Lautrec College in Toulouse.

The college was designed to accommodate 400 day students. Boasting an aggregate floor space of 8200 m², the college was made up of several buildings. The latter have been completely demolished and a new facility built on the premises of the former building group.  The architectural concept provides for all requisite amenities to be housed in a single, three-storey building. The new college edifice, with its expansive window treatment, is open to the outside.

McDonald’s: New ‘Full Image’ Restaurant Concept

Some 500 McDonald’s restaurants in France are being revamped based on the innovative Full Image concept which calls for investment in cleaner technologies. This new concept involves a change in architecture for existing restaurants. 

The object of the Full Image concept is to better integrate McDonald’s restaurants into their surroundings through the judicious use of materials, colours and technologies, thereby reducing their overall environmental footprint. 

The teams at SNC‑Lavalin used the Full Image retrofit programme to demonstrate the breadth of corporate competencies. A glance at projects already completed provides undisputable evidence of the environmental and aesthetic enhancements attributable to the programme.
