SNC-Lavalin Clean Air was awarded the turnkey construction of a fumes processing installation for the CTG2 (Compagnie Thermique du Gol) coal fired electric power plant in La Réunion. The facility includes reagent preparation and processing of liquid effluent.

Saverglass commissioned SNC-Lavalin to manage the retrofitting of the company's plant, including the rebuilding of Oven 7, the five production lines and related utilities. The operation was completed in a record ten months from the inception of preliminary engineering studies through to commissioning, with some 300 persons under SCN-Lavalin supervision at the peak of project activities. The new, larger oven will be used exclusively for the manufacture of carafes and premium glass bottles destined for the perfume and upscale spirits sectors.

Cristanol (Cristal Union and Blétanol) commissioned SNC-Lavalin with owner assistance and ECPM for the company's new bioethanol and alcohol production unit destined for the industrial and food service sectors. Raw materials, namely beetroot and wheat, are processed to produce 3.5 million hectolitres per year. The budget for the building of the two-phase facility totalled €271 000 000. Work carried out included as follows: costing, structure work, master plan, administrative files, 3D drawings, tender package, work supervision and organisation of commissioning operations.

SNC-Lavalin was commissioned to modify existing plant installations at Amiens, the object being to increase amino acid production capacity. The project entailed basic engineering, detailed engineering studies, assistance with procurement and follow-up on execution. Company teams had completed work for this same client at Nesle in Belgium.

SNC-Lavalin was commissioned to increase production capacity and retrofit a fertiliser production plant in Jordan. The project involved an existing fertiliser production plant operated by Jordan Phosphate Mines Company at Aqaba. Over and above the desired increase in production capacity and attendant benefits, this investment was designed to enable the client to enhance the quality of the plant's end product, bring the gaseous effluent treatment system up to standard, reduce the facility's impact on the environment and improve conditions for workers by reducing dust emission.

Sonatrach commissioned SNC-Lavalin to assist in the project management of a gas compression station at Djelfa in Algeria.

SNC-Lavalin was commissioned to conduct preliminary design engineering and cost assessment work for a new turbo-generator unit at the Gonfreville petrochemical plant. This new turbo-generator unit is steam-fed by steam crackers which produce steam at 100 bars and generate 8 MW of electrical power. The unit can also operate in downgraded mode using steam at 66 bars and generating electrical output of 5 MW.

Industrial platform in white biotechnology – BioDémo

BioDémo, a subsidiary of ARD, has commissioned SNC-Lavalin to build a pilot plant for the production of succinic acid, a parent compound which plays a major role in chemical and biochemical processes. The plant will have a production capacity of 2000 tonnes per year and requires investment in the amount of € 21 million.

Procéthol 2G commissioned SNC-Lavalin with a project management contract which included preliminary studies and construction of a pilot, second generation biofuel production unit at the Bazancourt-Pomacle agro-industrial facility.
