Saverglass glass production plant

Saverglass commissioned SNC-Lavalin to manage the retrofitting of the company's plant, including the rebuilding of Oven 7, the five production lines and related utilities. The operation was completed in a record ten months from the inception of preliminary engineering studies through to commissioning, with some 300 persons under SCN-Lavalin supervision at the peak of project activities. The new, larger oven will be used exclusively for the manufacture of carafes and premium glass bottles destined for the perfume and upscale spirits sectors.

Saint Gobain Desjonquères

SNC-Lavalin was commissioned with the design and construction of a facility for the storage and preparation of raw materials at Mers-les-Bains. Company teams were charged with feasibility studies, final designs and turnkey execution under the terms of a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contract which also provided for the sharing of efficiencies achieved based on the aforementioned GMP. Site production is destined for use by the perfume, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors. SNC-Lavalin had previously carried out work for this same client during the reconstruction of Ovens 1, 2 and 4.

New production line, Verrerie du Languedoc

SNC-Lavalin was awarded the construction of a new production line fed by an existing oven at the VCL plant at Vergèze, which is adjacent to the Perrier spring and bottling plant. Work was organized and conducted in three separate phases:
  • Adaptation of Oven 1, including banking of the latter for a period of three weeks, modification of exhaust ducts and scale removal system, multiple re-routing of cables and pipes
  • Construction of a new cellar between the two ovens, major modifications to building structure, installation of a frame for the new feeder, while ensuring that the two ovens remained in operation
  • Comprehensive setup of the new line in less than six weeks, a task which necessitated the shutdown of Oven 2.
