SNC-Lavalin took part in the largest urban redevelopment project in Europe designed to provide for changing needs. The «Madrid Calle 30» project involved redevelopment of the road network and area traversed by the former M30 highway. Work undertaken was intended to enhance functionality and optimize traffic flow. SNC-Lavalin involvement extended to a number of project phases.

AVE high speed rail line Madrid-Barcelona-French border, Sants-La Sagrera section

SNC-Lavalin was awarded the construction-including platform and rail bed-of a 5.64-kilometre urban rail tunnel extending from Sants to La Sagrera rail stations in Barcelona. The tunnel is for the new high speed rail line (AVE) from Madrid to Barcelona to the French border.

Barcelona metro

SNC Lavalin managed and oversaw construction of Line 9 of the Barcelona metro. The new line is 41 km long, includes 43 stations and is part of the city's public transport infrastructure master plan.

Line 1, Seville metro

«Metro de Sevilla» Group commissioned SNC-Lavalin with the detailed engineering of Section 1 of the Seville metro. The line, 4 km long, included 5 stations and traversed the better portion of the city's central area. Hence the undertaking proved technically challenging and particularly costly.
